Heading West

After I graduate in December, I will be moving to Livingston, Montana to do a year of service with Americorps, working for Big Brothers Big Sisters. I will be working in their offices in Livingston developing and implementing a marketing and public relations plan for BBBS. Livingston is located in south-west Montana, 20 miles east of Bozeman and 50 miles north of Yellowstone National Park. Livingston is a small town of about 8,000, and was named the 6th best outdoor town in the country by MSN. It was the location for the movie "A River Runs Through It." The area is sure to be a trail runners paradise with mountains in every direction. It sits at 4,500 feet in elevation. I can't wait to get out there and start exploring! It's going to be a great year. You should all come visit!

Okay, I may have to change my Yosemite trip to Yellowstone.
You are so damn lucky.
Congrats.

Just don't let the wildlife eat you.

Oh to be young and mobile.

AWESOME!

I keep telling my kids to move west after they graduate.

We may never see you in the east again.

My God, how you fall into the these situations.
Another vacation for a year.
I fought forest fires in that area, wow is it beautiful. Of course I have been out there several times on vacation.
Watch out for wolves, bear, mountain lions and moose.

Those pictures are BEAUTIFUL! I've never been to Montana but man I'm missing out! It'll be a great time for you to have hard runs up in those mountains.

Sweet! You'll definitely have no shortage of places to run out there. Make sure to blog lots of photos and don't end up like Christopher McCandless!

Nick,

Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Glacier, take your pick :)

Slim,

I might come back...for a visit :)

Don,

Just livin the dream. The Mountain Lions are of some concern, but I'll take that chance ;)

Clara,

I've never been to Montana, either. The pictures look so awesome; I can't wait to see it all for real!

Brian,

The trails will be plentiful. I'll make sure to have my camera charged up and ready to go! I think I'll get my food from the grocery store, to avoid the whole, eating poisonous plants and dying, thing...

Montana is gorgeous! You will love it! I'm jealous :) I spent one week hiking in Glacier, and one week hiking through Yellowstone a couple years back and I think about it everyday. You will be a trail junkie! Congrats on the job/opportunity.
