Run: 2 Miles, Trail
Swim: 1 mile

I had to work late everyday this week and didn't have any time to run. I am glad I was supposed to be tapering anyway. I wanted to run 30-40 miles this week but I will be lucky to break 10. I went to MAF this afternoon for a 5-10 mile run. Just before the first mile marker I took a pretty nasty spill on a rocky section of single track. One of those falls where you lay in the dirt for a minute to make sure all your limbs are still attached and unshattered. Luckily I was fine, just a bloody knee and bruised shoulder. I decided that was a sign. I took the first side trail I could find back to my car and hightailed it out of there. I decided I would be better off swimming. I feel ready to have a good race next weekend at Burning River.

Good call on playing it safe! You guys are going to have such an amazing time next weekend :) I'm still amazed at the proximity that your first and 2nd hundred are to one another. You're awesome!

Glad the fall didn't do much damage :)

Glad you didn't hurt anything important..like your feet or legs.
Stay out of the "difficult" lane at the pool.
See you Friday! When are you coming north?

Addy,

I can't wait, I am really looking forward to this race. After I finished Mohican I thought briefly about not doing BR, but that only lasted a few hours. Now I can't wait to get back out there and run another 100.

Kim,

I tried to stay in the 8 foot deep section in the pool so I would drowned as much as I would have in the 10 foot section.
I will be coming up Friday, not sure what time. I will have to see what Mike wants me to do. I took off work so I can come whenever.

Josh,

As I told you on voicemail, Tony Mathison is coming through Cincy on his way up from Texas. If you want to share the ride with him he is willing to bring you and Adam. He is also staying on my floor! He has run 4 100's before so maybe you can pick his brain on the way up. His first 100 was Rocky Racoon....get us some good insider info for our RR!?!?!

Anyways, the phone number is on your voicemail, call him if you want. If you need the number again, email me.

Addy,
is that a new profile pic? I like that!!

(Sorry Josh, it's not all about you.)

So who all is running Rocky Raccoon in Feb??

Kim,

It's OK, we can talk about Addy's sweet new pic from TRT. As for Rocky Raccoon, I just entered the lottery for the 72 hour race at Across The Years in Dec./Jan. In Arizona. I will find out in about a week if I got in or not. If I get in I probably wont be able to do Rocky, if I don't get in I will see if I can get vacation time for it.

Josh, if you do ATY can you count that as 3 ultras towards your ultra goal of the 100? You should. It is 3 days for pete's sake! If you do more than 50k each day, you should count them as three separate ultras.

Let me chime in right now about Addys sweet photo. Very nice composition with the layers of landscape behind her, and she only enhanced the view of course! We all agree on that. Josh, Addy is running a 50 miler....it's on her blog as a timer, I would like to see you there. Make it happen.

Mike,

Because the 3 day event is one race, I will only count it once. I don't want anyone challanging my book keeping when I go for the record of most ultras ever run.

We wouldn't want to put you in the DK category....
