Well I think I have solidified my plans for my fall 100 miler. I was granted my vacation time from work and I sent in my registration for the
Plain 100 in Central WA. I E-mailed the RD, Tom
Ripley today. They haven't
received my registration yet but he said they have a spot for me. He sent me some information that had already been sent to the other runners. This will be quite a
challenging run. There are no aid stations, no course markings, no crew allowed, no pacers. There is one drop bag area at 55 miles. Other than that I will need to carry everything I will need with me at all times. I just
received the trail maps of the area I will need to navigate the course. There are three pages of written direction on the website but it will take
a lot of map reading to get through the race. The race is run through the Cascade mountains with 21,000 feet of climb and a 36 hour time limit. From the race reports I have read it is generally agreed upon that this race is actually more like 106 miles. in the 9 years of the race there have been 19 finishers, a finishing rate of 15%. Right now there are 27 people signed up including
Bev and Alan
Abbs, Luis
Escobar, Davy Crockett and David
Goggins (
That's right Kim, I said DAVID
GOGGINS.)

Look at the way Goddess set up Goggins photo on her site so it looks like they are running at each other, all fairy tale style....
She is a Goggins stalker, I swear!
PS - I love you Kim, don't be mad at me for showing the world the level of your Gogginsanity!
No pacing, no crew. So I would have to actually run that race to see DG..
But wait won't he be at McNaughton??
Josh,
You are a crazy bastard! 150-mile runs, 21,000 feet 100 milers with 17% finish rate....
You are my hero.
